Flour everywhere

👩‍⚕️ Elena

Decided today was the day I’d finally try making bread from scratch. How hard could it be, right?

Flour everywhere

Flour everywhere

Three hours later and I’m pretty sure I used more flour on the counter and in my hair than actually in the dough. The recipe said “lightly flour your surface” but apparently I have a very generous interpretation of “lightly.” Carmen walked in during the kneading phase and immediately started laughing.

The concentration face is real.

The concentration face is real.

The bread is currently rising and honestly looks like it might actually turn into something edible. Though at this point I’m just proud I didn’t burn down the dorm kitchen. My roommate is going to kill me when she sees the state I left everything in.

Update at 6pm: It actually worked! The bread is a little lopsided but it tastes amazing. Definitely making this again, maybe with less explosive flour technique next time.
