. Marcus has this whole system for organizing his computer stuff that he explained to me for approximately forty-seven minutes yesterday. Each cable has a PURPOSE, you guys. A SPECIFIC PURPOSE.

The cable situation is… extensive

The font thing is even better. He literally got excited - like genuinely excited - telling me about the difference between Helvetica and Arial. “Elena, look at the ‘a’!” he kept saying, pointing at his laptop screen like he was showing me ancient hieroglyphics

This conversation lasted 45 minutes

. I pretended to care. I actually kind of did care, which is concerning.

He also has strong opinions about kerning (the space between letters, in case you were wondering, which you weren’t but now you know). I’ve created a monster by asking questions

Font lecture in progress

. Every time I nod encouragingly, he launches into another design theory lecture.

The scary part? I’m finding all of this… endearing? Like, genuinely cute that he gets this passionate about fonts and cable management. What is happening to me.
