Carmen found this hot yoga video online and convinced me we needed to try it. “It’ll be great for flexibility,” she said. “Super relaxing,” she said.

Turns out cranking the heat to eighty-five degrees and attempting warrior poses in your living room is less “zen experience” and more “medieval torture method.” We made it exactly fifteen minutes before both collapsing in defeat.

Jake walked in to find us sprawled on our mats like crime scene outlines, questioning every life choice that led to this moment. Carmen’s already talking about trying hot pilates next week. I’m pretending I didn’t hear that.

Note to self: when your workout partner gets that gleam in her eye, run. Or at least invest in better ventilation.
