Party of Four (Sort Of)

👩‍⚕️ Elena 🎭 Sophie

So apparently we have a new family member. Her name is Mimi, she’s Sophie’s age, and she has very specific dining requirements.

This all started yesterday when Sophie announced at breakfast that “Mimi is hungry too.” I thought she was talking about her stuffed elephant, but no. Mimi is invisible, sits in the chair next to Sophie, and according to my two-year-old, has strong opinions about vegetables.

Tonight’s dinner conversation included Sophie explaining to Mimi why she needs to eat her carrots (“They make your eyes pretty, Mimi!”) and asking me to cut Mimi’s chicken into smaller pieces. I found myself actually reaching for a knife before catching myself. This is my life now.

Marcus thinks it’s adorable. I’m just trying to figure out if I need to buy groceries for four people now. At least Mimi has good manners - Sophie made sure to teach her to say please and thank you. If we’re going to have an imaginary dinner guest, she might as well be polite about it.
