Window seats
Alex came over this afternoon to work on our anatomy study guide, but we got completely derailed by the drama unfolding outside our living room window.

Window seats
There’s this couple who walks by every day around 3pm - always holding hands, always deep in conversation. Today they stopped right under the streetlight and had what looked like a serious discussion. Not fighting, just… intense.
“Think they’re breaking up?” Alex asked, leaning forward on the couch. I shook my head. “Look at their body language. He’s holding both her hands. That’s not breakup posture.” We spent the next twenty minutes making up elaborate backstories for them. Maybe they’re deciding whether to move in together. Maybe she got a job offer in another city. Maybe they’re planning to adopt a dog and can’t agree on breeds.

It’s funny how watching other people’s lives makes you think about your own. Alex mentioned he’s been having similar conversations with his girlfriend lately - the kind where you’re not arguing, just figuring out what comes next. Sometimes I forget that everyone our age is dealing with the same questions about careers and relationships and whether we’re making the right choices.
We never did finish that study guide, but honestly? I think we learned more about life sitting on that couch than we would have from any textbook.
