Flying solo
Survived my first shift running the front desk completely on my own today.

Flying solo
No supervisor hovering over my shoulder, no one to ask when the computer system decided to freeze mid-transaction. Just me, a stack of guest passes, and way too many people asking if we validate parking.
The morning started rough when I couldn’t figure out how to process a guest membership renewal and had to call my supervisor twice. By lunch I was getting the hang of it, and by closing I actually felt like I knew what I was doing. Small victories.

Paperwork never ends.
Now I’m home reviewing all the notes I scribbled throughout the day, trying to cement the processes in my brain before tomorrow’s shift. Jake keeps offering to quiz me on the membership types, which is sweet but also makes me realize how much I’ve been talking about work lately. Good thing he finds my campus rec stories entertaining.
Next week they’re having me shadow the group fitness scheduling, which should be interesting since I actually know something about that side of things. Maybe all those years of planning my own workouts will finally pay off professionally.
