You know those perfect Easter family photos you see on Pinterest? The ones where everyone is smiling and the children look angelic in their pastel outfits? Yeah, this is not that.

Sophie had been on an Easter candy high for approximately forty-seven minutes when the sugar crash hit during our photo attempt. Theo, who is three months old and has zero appreciation for holidays, decided this was the perfect moment for his daily meltdown. Marcus and I are holding it together with the kind of forced smiles that say “we will get through this” and “why did we think this was a good idea.”

But you know what? I’m calling this a win. We’re all dressed, we’re all in the same room at the same time, and nobody has chocolate on their face (yet). The bar is low these days, and I’m not sorry about it. Plus, these are the photos we’ll actually laugh about in twenty years.
