The Roar Heard 'Round Apex

👩‍⚕️ Elena 🦕 Theo

So apparently my one-year-old has decided his spirit animal is a velociraptor. Theo’s vocabulary is exploding lately, and while most toddlers are mastering “mama” and “dada,” mine has chosen to perfect the art of the dinosaur roar.

Yesterday at Harris Teeter, he RAWRED at the poor cashier who was just trying to scan our bananas. The woman looked at me like I was raising a feral child. I mean, she’s not wrong, but still. Then this morning, the mailman got the full T-Rex treatment through our front window. I watched from the kitchen as Theo pressed his little face against the glass and let out his most impressive roar yet.

Even Abuela Rosa isn’t safe. She came over for Sunday dinner and Theo greeted her at the door with arms raised, mouth wide, full prehistoric mode. Rosa just laughed and said “Ay, mijo, you sound just like your abuelo when he watches fútbol.” I can’t argue with that logic.

Marcus thinks it’s hilarious and keeps encouraging him. I found them both on the living room floor yesterday having a roaring contest. My husband won, which I didn’t even know was possible. We’re all doing great over here, obviously.
