Red, White, and New Neighbors
Our first Fourth of July on Creekwood Lane and I’m officially declaring it a success. Marcus fired up the grill for the first time since we moved in (only mild panic about propane tank connections) and managed not to char everything beyond recognition.

Red, White, and New Neighbors
I may have coordinated our outfits around the holiday because I’m that mom now, apparently.
Sophie made friends with the neighbor girl before I even finished introducing myself to her parents. They were on the swings within minutes, planning elaborate games involving patriotic themes and probably sugar crashes later.

Sophie made a friend in approximately thirty seconds. Show off.
Meanwhile, Theo spent the afternoon roaring at anyone who would listen - his new favorite form of communication. The neighbors think it’s adorable. Give it a week.
I discovered red, white, and blue is actually a very flattering color palette on me, so expect this to become an annual thing. Marcus says I looked “very American” which I’m choosing to take as a compliment. The burgers were only slightly overcooked and nobody got food poisoning, so I’m calling this a parenting win.
