Michelle came over to test out her new iPhone 7 Plus and somehow I became the unofficial photography instructor. We spent two hours on my couch figuring out Portrait mode, which is basically magic disguised as a camera setting.

Turns out neither of us really understood depth of field until we started playing with it. Michelle’s first successful portrait shot was of my coffee mug, which she declared “artistically blurred in all the right places.” I may have created a monster.

Jake walked through three times asking if we needed snacks and finally just left a bag of pretzels on the coffee table. Smart man. We’re still here taking pictures of literally everything with bokeh effects.
