Three hours. Three solid hours of highlighting what I thought was the cardiovascular system chapter, making detailed notes in the margins, even drawing little arrows connecting concepts.

Turns out I’ve been deep-diving into the respiratory system this whole time. Which would be great if that was what’s on tomorrow’s exam. Spoiler alert: it’s not.

The evidence speaks for itself

The desk tells the whole story. Yellow highlighter casualties everywhere, coffee rings on half my notes, and that moment of pure defeat when you realize you have to start over. Jake’s going to come home to find me in the exact same spot, probably muttering about alveoli when I should be thinking about ventricles.

At least I know more about breathing than I did this morning. Silver lining and all that.
