Community produce and weekend priorities

👩‍⚕️ Elena

The farmers market was packed this morning - apparently everyone had the same idea about taking advantage of this perfect spring weather.

Jake and I made our usual rounds: the herb lady who remembers my name, the tomato guy who always gives us an extra one, the sourdough booth where Jake lingers like he’s contemplating a major life decision.

Back home, I’m spreading everything out on the counter like some kind of produce inventory. Three different types of lettuce because I couldn’t decide, herbs that smell like actual sunshine, and enough tomatoes to make salsa for the next month. Jake’s already claimed the sourdough and disappeared with it - I can hear him in the living room, probably eating it straight from the bag.

There’s something about farmers market hauls that makes me feel like I have my life together, even when the rest of the weekend involves laundry mountains and that stack of work emails I’m pretending doesn’t exist. Fresh basil fixes everything, right?
