Started innocently enough this morning. Jake mentioned something about castle architecture during breakfast, and I thought I’d just quickly look up the difference between a keep and a bailey.

My laptop battery died somewhere around the Siege of Carcassonne and I had to switch to actual books from the library. Yes, physical books. With pages.

Jake came home to find me in full research mode, surrounded by what he diplomatically called my “academic fort.” I tried to explain how this was all somehow related to understanding historical nursing practices, but even I don’t buy that anymore.
