Flour power

Carmen decided she wanted to learn how to make Jake’s favorite banana bread today. ‘How hard can it be?’ she said, pulling ingredients from our pantry with the confidence of someone who’s never accidentally dumped a full cup of flour directly into a running mixer.

The answer is: harder than expected. One second we’re measuring ingredients, the next our entire kitchen looks like a bakery explosion. Carmen’s standing there covered head to toe in flour, and I’m crying laughing behind the camera because her expression is pure ‘what just happened to my life?’

Cleanup crew reporting for duty

Jake walked in during cleanup and immediately grabbed his phone to document our disaster management skills. Carmen’s already planning round two, convinced she can master this. I admire the optimism, but I’m hiding the mixer until she practices with something less… explosive.

The bread actually turned out decent once we scraped together enough non-floor ingredients. Carmen’s taking the loaves home as evidence that she can, technically, bake. The flour in her hair tells a different story.
