👩‍⚕️ Elena ✨ P_michelle-rodriguez

Michelle showed up for her usual training session, but twenty minutes in she stopped mid-burpee and said, “Elena, can we talk about something real for a minute?” Next thing I know, we’re both sitting cross-legged on my yoga mat having the kind of conversation I didn’t know I needed.

Turns out my client has been watching me juggle everything—nursing shifts, Jake’s projects, family stuff, pottery teaching—and she had some thoughts. Not the kind of generic “self-care” advice everyone throws around, but real talk about what it actually looks like to stop trying to optimize every single thing. “You know what your problem is?” she said, pointing a water bottle at me like she was delivering a TED talk. “You think rest has to be earned.”

We ended up talking for two hours. No workout happened. Michelle declared it “mental health training” and honestly, she’s not wrong. Sometimes the universe sends you exactly what you need in the form of a client who refuses to do another burpee until you admit you’re running on fumes.

Jake’s going to come home to find us still on the living room floor discussing life philosophy. This is fine. This is exactly what Tuesday was supposed to be.
