The great coffee conspiracy of 2025

Turns out I’ve been accidentally moving Jake’s coffee setup around for weeks. Every time I clean the kitchen, I put his grinder back in what I think is the ‘right’ spot. Apparently there’s a whole system involving counter space, outlet proximity, and some kind of morning routine flow chart I was completely destroying.

Jake finally cracked today when he couldn’t find the water reservoir filter. Started pulling apart the entire machine like he was defusing a bomb. That’s when I realized the little metal piece I keep putting in the ‘miscellaneous kitchen drawer’ actually belongs somewhere specific.

We’ve now established official coffee station boundaries. His corner, his rules, his mysterious organizational system that somehow makes perfect sense to him and zero sense to me. Marriage is just two people learning not to fix each other’s perfectly functional chaos.

The coffee tastes better already. Coincidence? Probably not.
