Paper hearts and friendship
Jake mentioned this morning that he wanted to make me a card instead of buying one, which somehow turned into me texting everyone to come over for an impromptu card-making session.

Paper hearts and friendship
Six adults hunched over construction paper like we’re back in elementary school.
Carmen showed up with a bag full of craft supplies she’s apparently been hoarding since her last classroom volunteer stint. Sarah brought her engineering precision to card layouts. Alex kept asking if there were “rules” for Valentine’s cards, while Michelle just dove in with glitter and zero fear.

The breakfast bar became our art studio.
Jake’s attempt at calligraphy is questionable at best, but his effort is everything.
We ended up making cards for each other, plus extras for family members. My kitchen looks like a craft store exploded, but watching everyone get completely absorbed in cutting and pasting was exactly what this Valentine’s Day needed. Sometimes the best gifts come from just showing up with scissors and good intentions.
