Well, we survived another Hartwell birthday. Theo turned two today and celebrated in the most Theo way possible — by absolutely destroying his dinosaur cake.

Not with his hands, mind you. That would be too civilized for a Hartwell child.

No, this kid went face-first into the T-Rex on his cake like he was trying to take a bite out of the Cretaceous period itself. Marcus and I just stood there watching it happen in slow motion, because what do you even do? Sophie was losing it laughing in the background, probably remembering her own legendary cake disasters from birthdays past.

The aftermath was… extensive.

That cake took me two hours to make and approximately 3.2 seconds for Theo to demolish. But seeing his chocolate-covered grin afterwards? Worth every destroyed dinosaur decoration. This kid has been obsessed with dinosaurs since he could say ‘mama’ and honestly, watching him live his best prehistoric life never gets old.

Marcus handled cleanup duty like the champion he is, while I documented the carnage for posterity. Because if we don’t capture these moments, who’s going to believe us when we tell these kids how wild they were? Two down, hopefully many more chaotic birthdays to go.
