Teaching moment

Something amazing happened in study group today. We were all staring at this impossible circulatory system diagram when I just… started explaining it. Not the tentative “I think maybe” way I usually contribute, but actually teaching.

Turns out those late nights drilling flashcards with Carmen paid off because suddenly I knew this stuff cold. The whole group was taking notes while I drew out the pathway on the whiteboard, asking questions, nodding along. Sarah even said “Elena, you should be a TA” and everyone agreed.

Deep in the anatomy zone

Walking back to the dorm afterward, Carmen said she’d never seen me that confident in an academic setting. She’s right - I felt like a completely different person up there. Maybe this whole nursing thing isn’t just something I’m surviving, but something I’m actually good at. Wild thought.
