Unexpected bridges

👩‍⚕️ Elena

Three years of posting random thoughts about training schedules and anatomy study sessions, and somehow it connected me to people I never expected to meet.

Unexpected bridges

Unexpected bridges

Got a message yesterday from someone who found my blog through Sarah’s recommendation—apparently she’s been telling her running group about my posts, and now they want to know if I’d be interested in joining them for their Thursday evening routes.

It’s funny how writing about your own little world can build bridges to other people’s. I started this thing mostly to keep track of my own progress and maybe vent about particularly brutal study sessions. Now there’s this whole network of people I didn’t even know existed, all connected through shared stories about early morning workouts and the particular exhaustion of balancing school with everything else.

Considering next steps.

Considering next steps.

Sarah’s been talking up this group for months—a mix of grad students and young professionals who meet twice a week for structured runs. Different pace groups, rotating routes, the kind of organized approach that appeals to my training-plan brain. Part of me thinks it could be exactly what I need to shake up my routine. The other part wonders if I’m already juggling enough moving pieces.

But maybe that’s exactly why it makes sense. Sometimes the best way to manage complexity is to add one more element that actually energizes you instead of draining you. Thursday evenings, Sarah says. I might just show up and see what happens.
