Watching Jake organize our anniversary weekend plans has been… enlightening.

Planning personalities
He’s got color-coded folders, backup restaurant reservations, and a detailed itinerary with buffer time built in. Meanwhile, I’m over here with a notebook that says “mountain town” and “nice dinner somewhere.”
Turns out we approach planning the same way we approach most things - he builds the framework, I fill in the spontaneous moments.

Two very different approaches to the same weekend getaway.
It’s actually kind of perfect, even if it means I’m learning to appreciate the beauty of having three different hiking trail options mapped out just in case.
The funny thing is, I always thought his methodical approach would drive me crazy. Instead, I’m realizing it gives me permission to be more flexible. When someone else handles the logistics, you get to focus on the experience. Who knew compatibility could look like complementary planning styles?
Two more weeks until we test this system in the wild. Something tells me our mountain town adventure is going to teach us even more about how we work together.
