Jake and I spent the better part of last week playing amateur HVAC detectives, and somewhere between the third emergency blanket fort and calling our landlord at 7am, I realized we’ve gotten really good at this whole partnership thing.

It wasn’t always smooth sailing – there was definitely a moment Tuesday night when he wanted to tear apart the thermostat and I just wanted to call a professional immediately. But we figured out how to blend his hands-on approach with my let’s-get-help-before-we-break-something instincts.

Stretching out more than just muscles today.

Turns out we make a decent team when the heat’s on. Literally.

Sitting here with my coffee this afternoon, thinking about how we went from freezing and frustrated to actually laughing about our “survival skills.” There’s something to be said for weathering the small storms together – pun absolutely intended. Makes me feel pretty good about tackling whatever comes next.
