Color-coded revelations
Three notebooks, seventeen lists, and one very patient boyfriend later - our anniversary weekend is officially booked and planned.

Color-coded revelations
Turns out the planning process taught me more than I expected about how Jake and I approach… well, everything. I’m the one who needs backup plans for the backup plans, who researches restaurant menus two weeks in advance, who color-codes itineraries by priority level. Jake’s the one who says “let’s just see what happens” and somehow always finds the best hole-in-the-wall taco place.

The evidence: three pages of pros and cons, color-coded by urgency level
For three weeks, I stressed about balancing his spontaneous energy with my need for structure. Tried to plan the perfect mix of scheduled activities and free time. Finally realized I was overthinking it when he looked at my color-coded weekend agenda and just laughed - not at me, but with this kind of fond appreciation that made me realize he actually likes my planning obsession.
We’re different people. I make lists, he makes music. I research, he explores. And somehow that works better than I thought it would. Anniversary weekend is going to be perfect - not because I planned every minute, but because we figured out how to blend both our styles into something that’s actually us.
