Found this little piece of paper tucked in my planner today while finally getting my organizational life back together.

Small notes, big realizations

It’s Jake’s note from when our heat went out last month - just a simple “Gone to hardware store, back with answers. Love you” scrawled on the back of a receipt.

Funny how the smallest gestures end up meaning the most. During that whole heating disaster, I was so focused on the problem-solving and the stress that I almost missed how naturally we fell into this rhythm together. No drama, no blame games, just two people figuring it out as a team.

Getting my planning life back in order.

Looking back at all these planners and notebooks from this year, I can see how much our domestic life has evolved. We’ve gotten really good at the practical stuff - who handles what, when to ask for help, how to support each other through the chaos. There’s something really reassuring about knowing we can handle whatever weird apartment crisis comes next.

Keeping the note though. Sometimes you need a tangible reminder that someone’s got your back, even when you’re too stressed to fully appreciate it in the moment.
