Notes from the archives
Cleaning out my anniversary planning folder today and stumbled across Jake’s note from that whole heating disaster back in February. You know the one - “Called the landlord again. Made coffee. You’ve got this. -J”

Notes from the archives
Sitting here reading it again, I’m struck by how much that little piece of paper actually says about us. Not the dramatic gesture kind of love story, but the “I’ll handle the landlord while you handle your exam stress” kind. The “I see you’re overwhelmed so I’ll just quietly take care of what I can” kind.

Going through old notes and finding unexpected treasures.
Been going through a bunch of old notes and reminders like this, and there’s this whole archive of tiny moments where we just… figured it out together. No big conversations about division of labor or relationship roles. Just noticing what needed doing and doing it.
Maybe that’s what domestic partnership actually looks like when it’s working. Not the Pinterest version where everything’s coordinated and intentional, but the random Tuesday version where someone makes coffee without being asked and leaves notes that somehow say everything that matters.
