Planning revelations
Cleaning out my anniversary planning folder this afternoon and honestly? The scattered notes and crossed-out lists tell a better story than the actual weekend we ended up having.

Planning revelations
Turns out I had this whole elaborate system - color-coded sticky notes for restaurant options, spreadsheet comparing hotel amenities, backup plans for the backup plans. Jake’s contribution was three handwritten suggestions on a napkin and “whatever makes you happy.” At the time, I thought he wasn’t engaged enough. Now I’m realizing he was just… trusting me to figure it out.

The real planning happens in the quiet moments after all the lists are made.
Which is either really sweet or mildly concerning, depending on how you look at it. I mean, I love planning things. Always have. But there’s something about finding these notes that makes me wonder if I’ve accidentally become the person who plans everything because I can’t let go of control, or if Jake’s become the person who lets me plan everything because it’s easier.
Probably both. And probably fine? Still figuring out if that’s the dynamic we want or just the one we’ve settled into.
