Jake never once got frustrated with me for being cold, never made it about the inconvenience to his work schedule. He just quietly started researching space heaters and checking weather forecasts like it was his personal mission to keep me comfortable.

I realized I’ve been thinking about domestic life all wrong. It’s not about having matching towels or knowing how to fix everything – it’s about how you show up when systems fail. How you problem-solve together when you’re both out of your depth.
