👩‍⚕️ Elena

Started going through that corner where I’ve been stashing random family stuff, and wow. Three more handwritten recipe cards from Abuela Rosa were hiding behind my old anatomy textbook. One’s completely in Spanish, another has ingredients I’ve never heard of, and the third just says “Para cuando Elena necesite fuerza” with a drawing of some kind of plant.

Sitting here looking at everything spread out on the floor, I’m realizing how much I don’t actually know. Like, I have her main cookbook system from the heritage training, but these random cards keep appearing everywhere. How many stories am I missing? How much did she write down that I never even knew existed?

I’m thinking it’s time to get systematic about this. Maybe make a proper list of what I have, what I remember her mentioning, and what questions I should have asked but didn’t. The thought of calling her and being like “Abuela, can you tell me literally everything again” feels overwhelming, but also… necessary?

Jake just walked by and offered to help organize, which is sweet, but this feels like something I need to sort through myself first. Figure out what I’m actually looking for before I drag anyone else into my family archive spiral.
