Unexpected workout buddy

Carmen and I just finished destroying ourselves at the rec center (her idea of a “light cardio day” nearly killed me) when this little orange furball came trotting up to us outside.

At first I thought it was just another campus cat doing its own thing, but this little guy was clearly looking for some attention.

Carmen immediately melted. I mean MELTED. She’s sitting there cooing at this cat like it’s a newborn baby, and honestly? It was pretty adorable.

Instant best friends

The cat seemed to think so too because it literally climbed right into her lap and started purring loud enough for half the campus to hear.

We spent like twenty minutes out there just hanging with our new friend. Carmen’s already talking about bringing some cat food tomorrow “just in case we see him again.” I give it two days before she’s trying to convince her roommate to let her smuggle him into the dorm. Some people are just natural born cat moms, I guess.

My legs are still shaking from those lunges but honestly? Best cooldown ever.
