Heavy lifting and good friends
Carmen called this morning asking if I could help her mom move some furniture around her apartment. Apparently Mrs. Rodriguez decided the day after Christmas was the perfect time to rearrange her entire living room. Who am I to argue with that logic?

Heavy lifting and good friends
Turns out “moving some furniture” meant relocating a dresser that weighs approximately as much as a small car. Carmen and I spent twenty minutes just figuring out how to get it through the doorway without taking out the wall. Her mom kept offering us more coffee like caffeine was going to magically make this thing lighter.

Assembly line packing mode activated.
The packing went smoother once we got into a rhythm. Carmen’s got this system where she calls out what goes in each box and I just follow orders. Probably the most organized I’ve been all week. Mrs. Rodriguez kept thanking us like we were doing some huge favor, but honestly it felt good to be useful for something that didn’t involve memorizing bone structures or writing blog posts about my feelings.
