Been thinking a lot today about that phone call with my parents last week.

You know when you’re bracing yourself for disappointment and instead get this wave of pride and understanding? That’s exactly what happened when I told them about officially declaring nursing.

Mom’s story about always knowing I’d end up helping people has been stuck in my head for days. It made me realize I’ve been approaching every major decision like I’m going into battle alone, when really I have this whole support system I’ve been too scared to lean on.

Putting thoughts to paper always helps me think clearer.

It’s weird how one conversation can shift your entire perspective. I used to think being independent meant never asking for advice or validation. Now I’m wondering if real independence is actually knowing when you have good people in your corner and trusting them enough to let them help guide you through the big stuff.

Feels like I’ve been making everything harder than it needs to be. But hey, better late than never to figure that out, right?
