Twenty-Three and Nerdy

So my boyfriend turned 23 today and I may have gone a little overboard. Dinner at this cute Italian place downtown (okay fine, it was Olive Garden but the lighting was romantic) and then art supplies because apparently I’m dating someone who gets genuinely excited about fancy pencils and sketchbooks.

I watched him open that bag of art stuff and his face just lit up like Christmas morning. Who knew a grown man could get that happy about charcoal sticks? This is what I’m dealing with people - my favorite nerd who draws on napkins and gets butterfly-excited about new drawing supplies.

He spent the rest of dinner sketching me on the receipt (which I’m keeping forever, obviously) and talking about some design project he wants to try. I pretend to understand half of what he says but honestly? Watching him get all animated about his art stuff is pretty adorable. Happy birthday to the guy who makes me laugh even when he’s being completely ridiculous.
