Strategic planning
Jake’s staring at our kitchen counter like it’s a crime scene. Three different grocery store flyers, last week’s receipts, a half-finished shopping list, and about fifteen coupons that expired in May. Somewhere in this chaos is supposed to be our meal plan for the week.

Strategic planning
I suggested we try being more organized about groceries - you know, actually plan meals instead of wandering Target hoping inspiration strikes in the cereal aisle. Seemed reasonable at the time. Now Jake’s trying to cross-reference sale prices with our usual brands while I’m realizing we’ve been buying the expensive pasta sauce this whole time when the store brand is literally half the price.
Took us forty minutes, but we finally have a actual system. Meals planned, list organized by store layout, coupons that aren’t from the Clinton administration. Jake’s already claiming credit for the “strategic bulk buying” of chicken when it goes on sale.

Compromise achieved. Mostly.
