👩‍⚕️ Elena 👨‍💻 Marcus

A year ago today, I walked down the aisle eight months pregnant, wearing the most beautiful dress that barely fit, to marry my favorite person in the world. Sophie was there too, obviously - sixteen months old and carried by Abuela Rosa because she kept trying to crawl away during the ceremony.

Everyone said the first year of marriage is the hardest. Add a toddler, night shifts at the hospital, and Marcus’s inability to put his socks IN the hamper instead of NEAR the hamper, and yeah, they weren’t wrong. But here we are. Still married, still laughing, still discovering new ways he can leave cabinet doors open (seriously, ALL of them, Marcus). I love this man more than I did a year ago, which I didn’t think was possible. Even when he snores. Even when he explains the difference between serif and sans-serif fonts at dinner parties. Even when he takes forty-seven tries to get one decent photo of me. Happy anniversary to us. Here’s to many more years of beautiful chaos.
