24 and Ancient
Today I turned 24 and I feel simultaneously ancient and like I’m still a kid playing dress-up. Ancient because I’m a wife, a mom to a two-year-old, working as a nurse, making actual grown-up decisions daily. Young because 24 IS young, right? RIGHT?

24 and Ancient
Marcus surprised me with dinner reservations while Sophie’s at my parents’ house. An actual date. With grown-up conversation and wine and everything. I forgot what it felt like to be Elena-the-person instead of Elena-the-mom-nurse-wife. Don’t get me wrong, I love all my roles. But sometimes you need a reminder that you’re still the girl who laughs too loud at bad jokes and steals fries off your husband’s plate. Here’s to 24 and all the beautiful chaos it’s going to bring.
