Called Out by a Two-Year-Old

We were in Target yesterday, minding our own business in the checkout line, when the cashier complimented Sophie’s tutu. Sweet moment, right? Sophie beams up at this nice stranger and announces, clear as day: “Mommy takes pictures of herself a lot!”

The cashier looked at me. I looked at Sophie. Sophie looked proud of herself for sharing this fascinating fact about her mother’s habits. I wanted to sink into the floor tiles.

But you know what? She’s not wrong. I DO take pictures of myself a lot. And apparently my two-year-old has been taking notes this whole time. Kid’s got eyes like a hawk and zero filter. This is either going to be hilarious or terrifying as she gets older.

So yes, Sophie. Mommy does take pictures of herself. A lot. What about it?
