Early bird reality check
7am shifts seemed like a good idea when I was filling out my availability form. Get to work early, finish early, have the whole afternoon free for studying or whatever. Makes perfect sense on paper.

Early bird reality check
The reality is I’m still figuring out this whole getting-up-at-5:45am thing. My body keeps thinking it’s the middle of the night when that alarm goes off. But there’s something kind of nice about the campus being so quiet in the morning - just the maintenance crew and a handful of early risers in the fitness center. Way different energy than the afternoon chaos I’m used to.

Coffee first, everything else second.
Jake left me fresh coffee before he headed to his internship, which basically makes him the best roommate ever. I’m learning that the post-shift coffee ritual is non-negotiable if I want to function like a normal human being for the rest of the day.
Three shifts in and I think I’m starting to get the hang of it. Or at least I’m getting better at not looking like a zombie when members check in. Progress, right?
