Gallery Opening
Sophie brought home another stack of artwork from preschool today, and I swear she’s getting better every week. We spread everything out on the kitchen island for our monthly ‘gallery review’ - yes, I’m that mom who takes her three-year-old’s art seriously.

The house she drew today actually looks like a house. Not just a square with a triangle on top, but windows in the right places, a door that makes sense, even little flowers in the front yard. Marcus walked by and got this look on his face like he was seeing himself in her - the artist dad recognizing something familiar.
I see something different though. I see the way she explains every single detail, how she chooses her colors deliberately, how proud she gets when we hang something new on the fridge. Sophie doesn’t just draw pictures. She tells stories. And honestly? She’s got way more confidence at three than I had at thirteen.
