I thought I was prepared for this. I’d been through it with Sophie - the waiting, the wondering when that first real smile would come. But when Theo looked up at me this morning and gave me his first genuine, non-gas-related smile, I completely lost it.

Four weeks of sleepless nights and endless feedings, and then this perfect little moment that makes it all worth it. Even after doing this once before with Sophie, it still hits like a freight train of pure love. These tiny milestones feel so huge when you’re in the thick of new mom life.

Marcus missed it because he was getting Sophie ready for preschool, but I managed to capture it on my phone. Sometimes the most ordinary moments turn out to be the most extraordinary ones.
