The Incredibles (Incredible Disaster)

So we thought we’d try our first family costume this year. The Incredibles seemed perfect - Elena as Elastigirl (obviously), Marcus as Mr. Incredible (with strategic padding that he claims is ‘realistic’), Sophie as Violet, and baby Theo as Jack-Jack.

The planning was flawless. The execution? Well, Theo took one look at himself in the mirror wearing that red onesie and decided this was the worst thing that had ever happened to him. We’re talking full toddler meltdown - face red, tears streaming, the works.

Trying to get one good shot before total costume rebellion

Sophie was a champ though, striking superhero poses while her baby brother lost his mind. Marcus kept trying to ‘fix’ Theo’s cape like that was the problem. And me? I got exactly three minutes of photos before we had to abort mission and change everyone back into normal clothes.

Next year we’re doing something that doesn’t require Theo to wear anything other than his regular clothes. Maybe we’ll all just wear regular clothes and call ourselves ‘The Normals.’ At least then we might make it to actual trick-or-treating.
