My Little Turkey Star
Y’all. My baby girl had her kindergarten Thanksgiving play today and I am NOT okay. Sophie had three whole lines as Turkey #2, and she delivered them like she was accepting an Oscar.

My Little Turkey Star
I sat in that tiny plastic chair in the back of the classroom with baby Theo sleeping in my arms, trying not to ugly cry while recording every second. Marcus kept whispering “that’s our daughter” like the rest of us didn’t know. When she spotted us in the audience and gave that little wave, I lost it completely.
She’s been practicing those lines for weeks - “Gobble gobble, I’m thankful for my family!” - and saying them to everyone who would listen. The mailman knows Sophie’s turkey lines. But seeing her up there, confident and beaming in that ridiculous construction paper costume, I realized this is just the beginning. My little girl is going to be on stages her whole life, and I’m going to be that mom crying in the audience every single time.
Currently bribing her with hot chocolate to keep the turkey costume on for approximately 847 more photos. Some moments deserve to be documented forever, you know?
