Finally finding the rhythm

👩‍⚕️ Elena

Jake wandered out of the bedroom this morning to find me camped on the living room floor with every anatomy book I own spread in a perfect circle around me. “Looks like a medical school summoning ritual,” he said, stepping carefully around my color-coded note system.

But here’s the thing — it’s actually working. After weeks of feeling like I’m drowning in muscle origins and nerve pathways, something clicked during this morning’s study session. Maybe it’s the way the natural light hits the pages, or maybe I finally found a system that makes sense to my brain, but I’m actually retaining this stuff.

Jake brought me coffee and settled at his desk to work on his own projects, creating this perfect Sunday morning study buddy situation. No pressure, no questions about whether I understand the brachial plexus (I do, finally), just quiet companionship while we both tackle our respective mountains of work.

Three more weeks until my next anatomy exam, and for the first time this semester, I’m feeling cautiously optimistic instead of completely overwhelmed.
