First Grade and First Opinions
Sophie started first grade today and apparently somewhere between kindergarten and now, she developed OPINIONS. About everything. Especially her outfit.

First Grade and First Opinions
I laid out three perfectly reasonable first-day options last night. She rejected all of them and marched to her closet with the confidence of someone who definitely knows better than her mother. Pink and purple stripes? With a blue headband? And those sparkly shoes that are basically glitter bombs waiting to explode all over my car? “This is perfect, Mama.”
Looking at last year’s kindergarten photo, she’s grown three inches and approximately forty levels of attitude. The sweet little girl who let me pick her clothes is gone, replaced by this tiny person with Strong Feelings about fashion.

Had to get in one with my first grader
I wasn’t ready for the opinions era to start this early, but here we are.
At least she’s still willing to let me get a photo with her. Give it another year and I’ll probably have to bribe her with ice cream just to look at the camera.
