Neighborhood theater

Alex came by around 3pm to borrow Jake’s anatomy textbook, but somehow we ended up making coffee and getting completely sucked into the drama happening across the street.

Apparently the new neighbors have been having some kind of ongoing dispute about parking spots, and today it all came to a head with a lot of animated hand-waving and door-slamming.

“Is that guy seriously measuring the distance between cars with a tape measure?” Alex asked, and I nearly spit out my coffee because yes, he absolutely was.

The drama unfolding across the street had our full attention.

We stood there for a solid twenty minutes just watching this whole thing unfold like it was the most compelling TV show ever.

The best part was when Jake came home and found us both pressed against the kitchen window like we were watching a nature documentary. “Are you two seriously people-watching?” he asked, and Alex just handed him a mug and pointed outside. Within five minutes Jake was just as invested as we were.

The tape measure guy finally stormed back inside, and we all kind of stood there like the credits had rolled. Alex grabbed the textbook and left, but not before we all agreed we need to keep an eye on this situation. Who knew Tuesday afternoons could be so entertaining?
