Kitchen studio

Text from Sarah at 2pm: “Studio heater died. Rain check?” My response: “Bring your clay. I have a kitchen counter.”

Turns out pottery doesn’t actually require a fancy studio - just flat surfaces, good light, and someone who doesn’t mind clay dust on their breakfast bar.

We spread out newspapers, filled bowls with water, and Sarah brought her entire tool kit in a canvas bag that’s seen better days.

The weird thing is, working in my kitchen felt more natural than the studio. Maybe because we could actually talk without whispering around other people’s concentration.

Sarah's precision meeting my intuition - we might be onto something here.

Sarah kept apologizing for the mess while systematically organizing our workspace like she was setting up a lab experiment. Meanwhile I’m over here just happy we didn’t have to cancel.

Three hours later: two bowls that actually look intentional, clay under our fingernails, and Jake walking into what looks like a small pottery explosion. Worth it.
