Small Worlds
I’ve been thinking about space lately. Not the kind Theo obsesses over (though he’d tell you all about the International Space Station if you let him), but the kind we live in.

Small Worlds
Our world shrunk down to this backyard, this kitchen, these four walls, and somehow we found more in less.
Sophie discovered she actually likes reading when there’s nowhere else to go. Theo’s bug collection has tripled, and I’ve learned more about beetles than I ever thought possible.

Marcus has perfected the art of looking professional from the waist up while wearing shorts on every video call.

And Biscuit? Well, Biscuit thinks the sprinkler was invented specifically for his entertainment.
We used to talk about needing more space, a bigger house, a bigger yard. Turns out we just needed more time to notice what we already had. Some days I miss our old normal - the chaos of school drop-offs, the freedom to go anywhere. But other days I watch Theo explain the lifecycle of a caterpillar to Biscuit (who listens very seriously) and think maybe getting smaller was exactly what we needed to get bigger.
Strange how the year that made everything feel smaller somehow made us feel more like ourselves. Or maybe that’s just what happens when you can’t run away from your own backyard - you finally stop and look around.
