Digital evangelism

👩‍⚕️ Elena ✨ P_carmen

Carmen showed up today with a mission: converting me to TikTok. Apparently I’m missing out on “the entire cultural conversation of our generation” by not having the app. Her evidence? A fifteen-minute presentation featuring dancing nurses, cooking fails, and something called “plant TikTok” that she swears would change my life.

I maintained my position that I have enough screen time between work and keeping up with actual friends, thank you very much. But then she found this whole fitness community doing creative home workouts, and okay, maybe I leaned in a little.

Apparently there's a whole fitness side of TikTok. Who knew?

Still not downloading it though. I’ve got enough rabbit holes in my life without adding whatever algorithm magic they’re using to keep people scrolling for hours. Carmen left muttering about my “stubborn millennial resistance to progress.” Pretty sure that’s not a thing, but what do I know?

Jake thinks it’s hilarious that I’m apparently too old for TikTok at thirty-one. We’ll see who’s laughing when I don’t lose three hours of my day to dance videos.
