Michelle stopped by this afternoon with her brand new iPhone 11 and immediately recruited me as her test subject for portrait mode. Apparently I need to “embrace the technology” and stop taking blurry photos with my ancient phone.

Turns out she’s right about the camera being pretty incredible. We spent an hour figuring out all the different settings and effects, with Michelle getting increasingly excited about each successful shot. The depth effect actually makes even my messy Sunday look seem intentional.

Now she’s trying to convince me I need an upgrade too. My phone budget says absolutely not, but watching her get that perfect shot… maybe I’m finally understanding why people get so excited about new tech.
