Three hours later, we’ve got her entire glaze collection properly labeled and her tools sorted by function instead of by “wherever someone dropped them last.” Margaret keeps insisting I don’t need to help with the heavy lifting, but watching a 68-year-old woman try to reorganize forty-pound bags of clay while I sit there drinking tea feels wrong.

Found her missing cobalt blue glaze behind a stack of bisqueware that somehow migrated to the wrong shelf. The relief on her face when we located it was worth every dusty minute.
