Tuesday afternoon seemed like the perfect time to finally try that watercolor tutorial I bookmarked three months ago. You know the one - “Easy Florals for Absolute Beginners!” with the impossibly calm instructor who makes everything look like magic.

Turns out there’s a significant gap between “watch someone else do it” and “actually do it yourself.” Who knew water and paint had such strong opinions about where they wanted to go? Certainly not where I was trying to guide them. My roses look more like abstract interpretations of… well, something that definitely isn’t roses.

Three attempts later and I’ve got paint under my nails, a rainbow of questionable color choices splattered across my yoga mat, and a newfound respect for people who make this look effortless.

The evidence speaks for itself.

Jake’s going to walk in later and find me surrounded by what can only be described as a craft supply crime scene.

But honestly? Kind of addicted to the complete unpredictability of it all. Tomorrow I’m trying landscapes. How hard could mountains be, right?
